  • M.C. Escher is the Dutch graphic artist who became world famous for his interest in the unusual, which he brought to life in his drawings. All his life, Escher was fascinated by repetition, as a kind of continuity in eternity. With immense enthusiasm, he discovered regular tessellation in his so-called symmetry prints. Regular tessellation refers to a print that is completely filled with similarly shaped figures that do not overlap anywhere. Escher drew inspiration for this from Moorish works of art. In the Moorish artworks, the figures were abstract, but with Escher they represent recognizable things (usually animals such as reptiles, fish & birds). Especially these artworks can be seen in the designs of the ties, bows & chokers of the We Love Ties Collection.

    Cravat silk

Do not wash your silk choker in the washing machine or in soapy lukewarm water. The best way to clean a silk choker is to treat the stain with benzene. Put a small amount of benzene on a clean cloth and hold it against the stain. The benzene will absorb the stain. Notice! Do not rub! Is the stain still not out of your choker? Put your choker rolled up in a jar coated with benzene. Put a lid on it and shake. Let the tie soak in it for about a day. Take your choker out and hang it on the narrow end in the open air. That way the benzene will dissipate and the choker will dry up wrinkle-free. Still want to smooth out your choker? Then iron it on the lowest setting and with a tea towel over it to keep the silk from melting. Do the above washing instructions not help? You can also take your choker to the dry cleaners to have it cleaned. Note that steaming is not good for a silk choker, but one cleaning will survive.
