A wool tie is easy to clean. Make lukewarm suds with a detergent intended for wool. Wash the tie by hand and rinse it clean. Let the tie dry outdoors by hanging it by the tail of the tie (narrowest part of the tie). If you still want to iron your necktie afterward, you can feel free to do so. Put your iron on the "wool" setting.
